Full-stack lender, Protium has rolled out certain initiatives to support and promote the wellness of its female employees.

The firm is looking to double the number of female employees working in the company within a year through a set of six policies – adoption leave, menstrual wellness leave, women's referral policy, safety for all policy, ticket to work policy, and flexi-hours.

Under the adoption leave policy, women seeking to adopt a child are entitled to three months of paid parental leave. Under the menstrual wellness leave policy, women are entitled to up to two days of menstrual leave per month, should they opt to take them. The referral policy awards 1.5 times the usual referral amount when a female candidate is referred and successfully hired.

The flexi-hour policy allows working mothers the choice to work from home on certain days of the week. The ticket to work policy aims to encourage women who have taken a break from work due to motherhood or other reasons.

The company's safety for all policy available on their app allows employees to contact emergency contacts as well as emergency services immediately in case of medical or other emergencies.

"As a rapidly-growing organisation, we are consciously making an effort to build our culture around the right principles for our existing employees while also inviting the best talent in the industry. These policies are a part of the same effort," said Priyanka Pathak, chief people officer at Protium.

The company has seen an increase of 89% in the number of applications from female candidates compared to men in less than a year.

"We are fully committed to building a framework of policies that is reflective of our employees' obvious needs and is empathetic to their less-than-obvious circumstances," said Miloni Valia, employer branding lead at Protium.
